Respectfully Yours
There are three circumstances which have shaped my life more than anything else: having incredibly sweet parents, being an only child, and getting teased as a kid.My parents are both sunny people. They never yelled, they never complained, and they were always optimistic & fun. While I can be serious when the time is appropriate, I think I inherited their enthusiasm and passion for life.
As an only child, I always wished for siblings. This longing has given me a desire to be social, to collaborate, and try to make the people around me as happy and comfortable as possible. I think this quality has been the catalyst for my interest in experience design.
Growing up, I was teased by classmates about my last name. While it has left me with a few emotional scars, I feel that it ultimately impacted my life for the better, because it gave me a sensitivity for justice and respect, which has shaped me to become extremely considerate in the way I treat people and communicate. I have a strict "no jerks" policy as well; respectfulness is the one quality that I demand in others, and I hold myself to that same standard.
